Juans Challenge...

So last weekend my very good friend Juan and I decided to each week come up with a photo challenge and then blog our results- just for kicks really. (And blogging inspiration.) So this week our challenge was to take a picture of music. Its hard! Hard to get away from cliches... So here are a few of my attempts... but do they work? Do they really communicate music? Or are they just images of funky things? Whacha got for me, Juan? :)

This last photo doesn't count as it was taken earlier this year at the reds, whites and bluegrass afternoon I went to at Boordy Vineyards. However, I remember when I was taking it, I was trying to get at the feel of the music. Thought I 'd throw it in here now.

Anyone want to join in the fun? Post your thoughts on the above photos... take your own photos and send the link to your blog... propose next weeks challenge... Lets have at it!!

Farmers Market Produce!!

So this morning's random sampling from the farmers market: flowers, milk, beets, speckled butter beans, black beans and yellow and red grape tomatoes... and I ran into Herb who swapped a nectarine, peach and some plums for a handful of luscious tomatoes... I'm not sure what it will all amount to... but hey?

Clearly not the most beautifully composed photo... however if you look closely, it might elicit a chuckle.

one more...

Ok, enough Montana already, but I do love this photo of us in Glacier. What you DON'T see, behind us is a line of cars waiting for the green light to get through the one-lane tunnel... HA! Nice view in the meantime though.

some more photos...

A bit o' craziness has kept me from getting on line and posting... As well as the fact that dad took upwards of 400 photos- so its been a hard to pick and choose which ones to post... But here are a few more for you to drool over. Moose drool.

The Missions (I believe) just out of Missoula.
Campsite #1 at the foot of the Beartooths. (Check out mom and dads new fangled tent!)
A beautiful hike up in the beartooths... Lots of snow to get around...
The wildflowers were just brilliant... everywhere you looked..
Like I said, lots of snow to try and get around... And this was mid-July mind you...
mountains
mountains everywhere.... Than will have to give you the proper names... I've lost track.
Traffic jam in Yellowstone... see if you can't figure out the cause... It only took this old bloke about an hour to saunter off the road into the bushes. Ah, america.
Some stunning, sultry, sulfuric springs...
The Grand Tetons in all their glory.
An terrific storm left us with a most amazing rainbow
Jenny Lake
swimming in what I believe was freshly melted snow. It was more of a dip than a swim. REFRESHING.

camp site number.... well I forget but just outside of the tetons...
The earlymorning sunshine...
And on to Jackson Hole where we met up with Ali-diko for breakfast. How crazy is it to drive into some random little town in the middle of no-where out west and have breakfast with a long lost friend from growing up? SO GREAT.
meeting the dogs...
Beatuiful big open spaces...
And our last campsite in the Tobacco Roots... So gorgeous.
Our view...
Nasan, whipping up a cake on the camp fire... What can I say, we camped in style.
s'mores anyone?
freshly hatched pine cone for mom
Oh wait, back to the beartooths for a minute...
Tim and Seth
Lindsay and Corin
And a family photo to top it off.

Such a good time!
Where are we going next summer??

*99% of the photos are credited to PWR... Thanks dad.
