"Rare sighting in Glacier National Park...."
A report this morning out of Glacier National Park confirms the rare sighting of three East African monkeys yesterday on Siyeh Pass. It is believed they are part of a troop that found its way to the United States sometime in the late 90's, and while there have been reports from various parts of the country of individual family members, this rare sighting confirms the family unit is traveling together once again. It is not clear from their bizarre behavioral patterns where they will be headed next, but experts suspect they are headed south to the Beartooth and Grand Teton mountain ranges.

dahlias for Kara...
...for Kara who could never resist saving her last two or three dollars for a few stems of glowing summer dahlias at the farmers market. I have been waiting eagerly for them to reappear this summer... and finally they are here! But bittersweet; they make me glad for the beauty and warmth of summertime and for my sister... and a little sad now, for all the time and space in between...

the pink poof trees are back!
These crazy truffula trees that bloom here in late june... rock my world!
(Kara -- hasn't this tree gotten big in the last four years?)
And... the cherry tomatoes on the front porch, sprouted from last years leftovers (Katie!) are plumping up fast... hooray!
